Facebook Metaverse ready to rebrand

Facebook is most likely looking to change its name in the coming days. According to media reports, Facebook is completely focusing on creating Metaverse. Because of this, the company can announce its new name. However, the company has refused to say anything about this yet.

A new name may be announced at the company's annual Connect conference.

As per the latest media news, the company's CEO Mark Zuckerberg can announce the new name at the company's Annual Connect Conference. The company wants to do this because the CEO of Facebook wants people to know the company as a metaverse company in the next few years.

Many facilities will be available in one place

As per media reports, through this change, the company is planning to bring all its apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus in one place. Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that we will be moving from a social media company to a 'Metaverse' company and will work on 'Embroided Internet'. In which the combination of reality and the virtual world will be more than ever. With this, you will be able to do many things like meeting, traveling, gaming.

Many companies have already made changes to Metaverse

Facebook is not the first company to rename or rebrand itself. Google established Alphabet Inc. as a holding company in 2015. Its aim was to grow itself in areas other than the search and advertising business. Also in 2016 SnapInk was renamed to Snapchat.

Facebook will hire 10,000 people for Metaverse development

The company has announced to employ 10,000 people from the European Union (UN) for its metaverse development. Mark Zuckerberg told that he will recruit extensively in five years for the experience development of the virtual reality world. These jobs will be for other countries including France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, and Spain.

Zuckerberg said last month that his company would grow from a social media platform to a 'Metaverse' company. Facebook is creating an online world where people will be able to play, work, and communicate in a virtual environment using a VR (virtual reality) headset.

What is Metaverse?

It can be called the next level of virtual reality. Just like people have developed virtual reality technology for audio speakers, television, video games. That is, you are able to see such things which are not in front of you. In the future, with the advanced version of this technology, you will be able to touch and feel the smell of things. This is what is being called the metaverse. The term metaverse was first used by science fiction author Neil Stephenson in his 1992 Nobel Snow Crash.

It will take 15 years for the Metaverse to be ready

Facebook has said that the Metaverse is not a company that can be built overnight. Some non-profit groups have funded $ 50 million (about Rs 376 crore) for the development of Metaverse. However, it may take 10 to 15 years to be ready. Some critics say it was designed by the company to divert attention from the scandals in recent months.

Facebook has AI and Reality Lab to develop Metaverse

Facebook's Cork is a reality lab in Ireland. It has opened an AI (Augmented Reality) research lab in France. In 2019 Facebook partnered with the University of Technology of Munich to create an AI Ethical Research Center. The people the company will employ in the next 5 years will include Highly Specialized Engineers.
